Update on my life - August 2013

Hi Everyone,

I hope you are all well, sorry again for the late post been a bit crazy. This blog is going to be a very different one for me, as this is going to be telling you guys what has been happening since my last blog. So hope you enjoy, oh and I have a twitter account now set up for my blog site it's @fran_helsing, so feel free to talk to me on there if you want :)

Anyway down to business, firstly I got into university which I start in September so in last than a month now. Was so nervous when I got the letter through I started crying when I read the words "confirmed place at Southampton Solent." I tried to get into university for about 1 year and to finally get it, it was like "oh my god, I've done it". I have dyslexia too which I know shouldn't be an excuse but I'm not going to lie A-levels are very very hard. This is why I completely understand what people younger than me are going through. So yeah I guess at the moment I am excited to meet people and get started on the course which is Psychology (Counselling). However, I am nervous what if people don't like me which I know sounds silly and stupid but when people meet me I'm quite shy. I look forward to university though as I have friends who are in their second and third year at that university already so I should be okay anyway :)

Another thing I have been sorting out is my gaming and stuff. As some of you are aware I did a blog about my history of gaming (http://franhelsing.blogspot.co.uk/) which I stated that I am considering getting an x-box 360 or a Playstation 3. I gave it some thought and I decided to go with an x-box 360 as there are some great deals on at the moment and I'm use to the controller. So soon hopefully I'll be doing game reviews and giveaways if I get enough views.

In addition, I have some sad news. As a result of me getting into university. I've been saving up like mad to buy my own stuff. So I'm not buying much make up and clothes till end of September time. So there isn't going to be much in terms of blog material. This is why I'm going to ask you to comment on here or twitter me and tell me anything you want me to do. It can be anything like a room tour both uni room and my family home bedroom, cooking blogs or do outfits of the day. I am also considering that in 2014. I might start a Youtube Channel which I have been wanting to do for a year now. What do you guys think?

So that's an update on my life, I hope that is okay for the moment. Sorry for the lack of blogs, I'll promise to do more I promise past September time. Please share this link too, that would be amazing.

Love you all,

Fran Helsing! x

My favorites of July 2013

Hi Everyone,

Me again, i hope you are all well and enjoying the weather :) This is my favourite of July. First of all, where the hell has this year gone?! This is crazy soon it would be end of summer and then Christmas.........Not good! Well it is, but you know what I mean (hopefully). Before I start, I just want to say I'm not being paid for mentioning these products or people, I got the products with my own money which I have earn through work. Anyway, enjoy this Blog :)

Skin Care:-

I have two skin care favourites of July. The first one is the Body Shop Strawberry Body Butter1, the reason I love this product is because one is smells amazing (I love the smell of strawberries) and two it really helps add moisturiser to my upper arms and thighs so yeah really love it, would get this product again when it runs out. The second is the Soap & Glory The Breakfast Scrub Body Exfoliator, I love the sugar crush version of this product, this is such a lovely product as it smells like pancakes which I love :) it does the same job as the sugar crush but I prefer the sugar crush version of this product but I really do love them both.

Make - Up:-

Face: I have been looking for a moisturiser which has SPF as none of my foundations do that are suitable for this type of hot weather anyway. So I went to Superdrug and got the Garnier Moisture Match Protect & Glow for normal Skin with SPF 20 it comes in a yellow bottle type thing. I love this product was it helps protect my skin from the Sun which is always a bonus but when I put make up on it looks great.
Eyes: It has to be the Maybelline EyeStudio Color Tattoo 24hr Cream Gel Eyeshadow in And On Bronze. I love this product, it is so easy to put on if your in a hurry in the mornings. I normally use my index finger to able on my eyelids and put a bit of mascara on and I'm good to go with my eyes. So Yeah! Been loving this product a lot this month and would consider buying more from that range.
Bourjois, Colour Boost in 04 Peach on the Beach

Lips: I've been loving the Bourjois, Colour Boost in 04 Peach on the Beach. This is like a coral pink (Shown in picture), it's not really clear in the picture but it is quite shiny and adds a bit of colour to my lips when I'm off out on a date night or meeting up with friends.

 Nails:

For my nails I have been loving Big Spender by Essie which is a beautiful deep pink colour which some of you might not be like it's not a summer colour. Your right it's not but it allows to suit two different proposes, it is suitable for day and night time and I don't have time to change my nail vanish everyday so I went for it and it stayed for about 5+ which doesn't happen with me and other nail varnish as it chips after a few days.

Another nail product I've been loving in July is the Magic Nail Polish remover (1 second) by Bourjois. I got this product because of the 3 for 2 in Boots. I can not speak highly enough about this product it is great if your in a hurry and want to do your nails quick or don't like making a mess by using loves of cotton buds or cue tips trying to remove all the nail polish off one nail. I can see my using this product for the rest of my life (that's how much I love this product).

Drink/ Food:-

I have not done this section of my Blog before but i have been loving the Boots Shapers Still Cranberry and Apple Drink. I am a nightmare for drinking water and I'm not a lover of it i only drink it when at the gym which is bad i know. Anyway I was thirsty and in Boots and I picked this up and I as soon a i drunk some I was like "OH MY GOD" I really liked the taste and was really hydrated just by a couple of mouth falls. It has 37 calories which is more better than most fizzy drinks so if I can I get this drink instead of getting a fizzy drink.

In terms of food been loving the restaurant Nandos. For those who don't know what Nando' is, it's a Nando's is a South African casual dining restaurant group originating from the Mozambican–Portuguese community with a Portuguese theme. Or As I say, A posh and healthier version of KFC :P haha. Anyway, I love going there because the staff as so lovely and helpful. I have never had a bad meal there was is good, I think in July allow I have been 3-4 time maybe but yeah if you haven't been; Go To One! You'll love it :)

Lawless film poster.jpgMovie:

in terms of film, The one I've been loving was Lawless with Tom Hardy. I am a Tom Hardy fan. The story is about three brothers and how they go about selling and making of moonshine when it was illegal to do so at them. I have to say this the evil detective/cop played by Guy Pearce, I was SO HAPPY when he died! I was a Asshole! Really well played though. All the cast did well as their characters especially when story of this film is based on a real life story. This film is good, I didn't feel bored at any point, good story line. There was a lot of blood and stuff in the film which was okay but if you are not into those types of film then. Overall, I would give this film a 9/10.

Moment:

Finally, my favourite moment of this month, has to be going to Brighton on holiday with my boyfriend. We went away for about 2 nights just the two of us which was lovely but spend a total of 2 extra days together, which was nice as we don't normally spend that much time together as we both work. Yeah Brighton is a really lovely sea-side town in England, We did a lot of walking but the hotel we stayed at The Thistle is so lovely, and really helpful. The room with no view costed us about £109 each so the total was £218 but that included gym and swimming pool :) Yeah was just really chilled, had chips on the sea front, went to sea life centre, had breakfast in an American diner type place. The funny moment about this holiday was the fire alarm going at 6AM and my boyfriend being like come on "let's go" and  I'm like "I'm in shorts I need to change!" :P luckily we were not outside for too long in the cold and we just went back to bed afterwards :) haha.

That's everything I think, I hope you have enjoyed this blog and write down in the comments what your favourite moment of July was :)

Seeya Seen,

Love,

Gamer Side of My Life - Fran Helsing! x

Hi Everyone,

Sorry for the delay, again been mega busy. Today my blog post is going to be about my interest in gaming. I am going to say now, yes I am a female gamer to some degree; I love games and playing them but I don't have a game console yet. When I mean yet, I am in the process of saving up for one. I have saved up enough for the console but not the monitor or TV screen to play it on yet.

So I guess this blog is more or less going to be about why I like gaming and what I would do when get a console.

Nintendo Entertainment System with controllerFirstly, I have enjoyed gaming from a young age, well from about 8 when my parents separated and my dad gave me his Nintendo Entertainment System (seen to the right). I enjoyed it a lot. I remember one game about a girl and you had to get her to collect the coins and if she dropped she landed in the sea and you could do sea level. I don't remember what the game was called, so if anyone reading this remembers or has any idea what I am saying, then please write in the comment bit below.

I then didn't have a console for a while till I was about 9-10. I saved up my own money and my dad paid for some of it towards a Nintendo Gameboy Colour in the colour Purple in which I got the game Pokémon sliver because I loved Pokémon as a kid I also had the monster's INC game too. Kinda shows how long ago this was really (and my age). Round my dad's house had a PlayStation 1 which I just played normal games like one game where you had lots of challenges like flipping burgers and pump up things and click pens, it was a really weird game. Again I cant remember the name (sorry).

My dad later got an Play Station 2 which was really cool, and I had games like Scobby Doo and the Mystery Mayhem which was a okay game enough though the graphics where rubbish compared to nowadays but good for those days I guess. Also at this point, I got given a free PlayStation 1 from a friend of the family. It had a lot of amazing games with it such as Jackie Chan Stuntmaster and Spiderman. Stuntmaster I didn't manage to complete. however, Spiderman game was the first game I completed which was amazing.

By the age of 12/13 the PlayStation 1, I was given broke and after another few months so did my dad's PlayStation 2. Which wasn't great. From then on, the only time I would play video games would be round friend's houses but it wasn't in an enjoyable sense to me. I felt like because I was a girl and didn't have a console I was at a disadvantage to my friends. But I enjoyed games we played like guitar Hero and Rock Band, I also realised I'm crap at Halo! haha.

About a year after thinking about that I decided I wanted to save up for on, but didn't have a job as was only 16. My first job I got was at about 17/18 but my money went to towards night outs and food for college. It has only been over the last 3-4 months I have had enough money to put aside for my console. I am stuck between, the PlayStation 3 or 4 OR the x-box 360 (not the x-box one). I am more likely to go towards the x-box 360 as prefer the console to the PlayStation for some reason.

My plans for once I do get a console would be to do some game reviews as well as my make up and other bits and bobs. I'll try and give reviews of different games and to different audiences. My taste in games are games like assassin's creed, Call of Duty, Lego games, Batman Arkham (from when I've played at friend's houses).

So yeah, I hope you liked my Blog for today, I am going to try and do some of my normal stuff with in the up and coming week :)

Thanks!

Make up in my make up bag: June 2013

Hi everyone,

Today I am going to talk to you about what is in my make up bag. I got my make up Bag is by Ted Baker I got it from Boots the drugstore in the UK. I want to make a disclaimer here, all the stuff in this bag I got with my own money or as gifts from family or friends so yeah i'm not here to brag just here to review and hopefully you guys would like some of the products in my make up bag or have them. If so please write a comment below saying your thoughts about the product. Anyway, lets get started.

Face Products:

1. Fix and Perfect pro Primer - 002 - Rimmel London.
I thought this is a good primer, even though I don't really wear primer that much anyway. I put this on to make sure my make up stays on areas where I want make up to stay on. However, don't really notice a massive difference if my make up stays on or not but it does seem to last a while longer. I guess as I haven't used much primer before so I guess I can really compare it.

2. Hide The Blemish Concealer Stick - 001 Ivory - Rimmel London.
This was the first Concealer I ever got when I was like 14 (the one in my makeup bag is not the same one! haha), then I stopped using it for a while then rediscovered it and love it. the reason why i love it, is because it does really well to cover up my red cheeks and I carry this with me everywhere and can't not live with out it. Only down side is that it is that it is quite thick but it's not too bad.

3. The True Match foundation - Golden Ivory D1- W1 - L'oreal Paris.
My friend Izzy recommend this too me. it's really good at giving an all over cover on my cheeks and forehead area, I use this foundation every day. I put this on with a superdrug brush and buff it in with the eco tools buffing brush - I buff to the outer points of my face so it matches my neck line.

4. Illuminating Touch Brightening Concealer - Natural 2 - Collection.
I use this for under eyes and on any redness and spots which is bad and needs extra cover. It is good as it covers all of it and I will get it again.I sometimes just put this Concealers on and some powder and that's it.

5. Studio Fix Powder -  in NC20 - MAC.
I put this on ever on it's own or over everything else. It is a good product and would get it again when hits pan and is gone. It is a good value for money in some ways as got it last year still going strong.

Eye Products:

1. Eyeshadow Pallette - Undressed - MUA.
I love this palette, think it is a good cheap version of the Urban decay palette which would love to own one day but being a student MUA version would do :) I love the colours as said in other blogs so don't think you guys would want me to go over it again. it is also good if starting out a make up collection.

2. SuperCat Eyeliner - Black - Soap and Glory.
This is good at creating differ looks but not under eye or waterline really, I use the black from MUA pallette to do that. I love this eyeliner as it doesn't make a mess which is great been looking for an eyeliner like it for ages.

3. Eyebrow Pencil - Dark Brown - Rimmel London.
Love this colour on my brows and stays on all day. I think this is also good value for money as well.

4. Teeasters.
My mum got this for me from her holiday in Jersey. It think this is good at shaping brows and yeah the only one I use anyway and I keep in my bag at all time so that if I see a hair that annoys me I can get it.

5. The Falsies Volum' Express (Waterproof) Mascara - Black - Maybelline.
I can not say how much I love this mascara, on my second one now. I think Mallbelline is my favourite brand for mascara as they are cheap and make my lashes look great. This mascara is good at making eyelashes look fuller.

Lip Products:

1. Lip Smacker - Sprite.
I put this on first before putting on lip stick or just on it's own to keep my lips conditioned through out the day and not dry.

I think that is everything as it is summer so I don't have lots of lip products in there at the moment. I hope you have enjoyed my blog today. If you could comment and share this Blog that would be great :)

Thanks,

Fran Helsing x

I'm Back!!!!! My Empties June 2013 :)

Hi Everyone!

I am back at long last! Been so busy lately it is crazy! I been doing my A-Levels and Access course work for the last few weeks along with work so been a very busy bee! So I have decided to do my empties Blog, I would do it on youtube but 1. don't have a beauty channel set up. 2. I'm not really a video person I.E I'm camera shy, but I promise I will do soon if you guys want :) So moving on to my empties Blog, Enjoy.

1. Sugar Crush Body Scrub - Soap and Glory from Boots. First of all, I love this product as I love sweet smelling stuff and this is no exception as it smells like coke bottle sweets (most people on youtube say that and I agree).I use this in the shower before shaving, tell you not to do it after shaving so I don't and I notice a massive difference when I didn't use this product and when I did as it left my skin  smooth which was great. Only downside is as student I don't use it often because of price so wanted to save every last bit of it and because of that I didn't notice massive difference in terms of if it stopped spots on my back and chest or not (sorry if too much detail.) All in all, I would get this product again as love smell and good product in all.*****

Wand for Mascara
2. Volume Glamour Max Definition Mascara - Bourjois Paris from superdrug. I got this mascara a while ago and only used it on just the tip of the lashes which was it was good for as it created a great look for my lashes as they are quite short. However, it was not good to coat the whole of the lash as made them look fake which I didn't like the look on me personally. All in all, I won't get this product again only because I have so many other products that do a better job that this product or want to try. ***

3. Snow Fairy - From Lush. I got this for Christmas last year in 2012. I get this product every Christmas and love it, I got the 500ml one :-P. It smells like sweets and I love the way it looks and smells. I looks like a mega pink candy-land world and smells like pear drops (as my boyfriend says, I think he steals some of it! haha). All in all, I would get this product again for Christmas but not the 500g one maybe like the 250g one as it was too much product and there might be other shower gels I wanna try but it is good if you wanna stick with a product for a while and save a bit of money. ****

4. Love ETC - From Body Shop. I got this product about 4 years ago as my second perfume and it has lasted all this time as I have it is one I go off and rediscover over and over again. it smells very posh but is still great if you want for buying it for someone who is maybe wanting to buy there first perfume. All in all, I love body shop products in general so can't really knock this product. ****

That's it for this blog, I hope you enjoyed it. Thanks for reading this Blog, if you could please share it with others, I would be really grateful, and maybe leave a comment below on what product or products you have just finished using and whether they were good or not :) Have an amazing day guys!

Love,

Fran Helsing! x

January Favourites 2013! x

Hi Everyone,

I hope you are all well. I can't believe where January has gone, I can see this year being a very quick year again! Any who, this is when I talk about what I have been enjoying the past 4 weeks in products such as make up, candles, perfumes and food, music and more. LETS START!!!

Make-up:

my favourites this month have to be......

The MUA Undressed palette. I use this palette if I want to create a natural look. However, over the last week I have changed my look completely in I have the palette that has as shade 11 a black with some bits of glitter in it under my lower lid line one it's own or with eyeliner on the upper lid. I use shade one (from left to right on palette)  or I use shade 9 all over my lid. It's great for creating new looks for everyday and would definitely recommend to friends and family as love it!

Skin Care:

For skin care I have been loving the body shop's Cucumber Concombre Cleansing milk and freshening water. These act as a toner, cleanser and moister in one I love these two products. My skin isn't that bad because I don't seem to get spots that much or break out so I use this once every 2-3 days and seems to work well. I am really sad to find that these have stopped now from the shop online.

Fashion:

I love my scarves at the minute! I love my Skull accessorize I got for Christmas from my bestie Izzy and I were that with my other favourite navy blue leather jacket which I got from Miss Selfridge in the January sales. I love it as it looks smart and you can dress it down as I wore this jacket with a lace dress to a family wedding and lots of people asked were I got it from. Also I have been after a cheap leather jacket that looks good on me and wasn't too much. In the sale it was £37 but with student discount I got it for £33.70 which was good. I'll try and find a photo of me wearing this outfit and post it on here for you guys to see :)

Candle:

I love my candles so the one I have been using a lot is Yankee Candle in Red Velvet. I got this candle from Clinton Cards and saw it would normal be like £7-9 but I got it for £4.98 :S so I was quite happy with that little bargain. The reason I love this candle is because it makes my room smell of cake which is lush and it stays in my room quite a while after I have used it too.

Perfume:

This is an old fragrance by it's Vera Wang  Lovestruck (suitable title with valentines day coming up!). I got this for Christmas last year (2011) and was worried I'd use it all up so only used it on special occasions, but now I rediscovered it and loved it I use it more often than normal and would be happy to get the a bigger size as only have the 30ml one :) Also the packaging is amazing very me! :P

Food:

I have been loving M&S Extremely Chocolatey mini rolls, They come in a blue tub and they are so addictive it's unreal! They are meant for my brother more so than me and every time I went in the kitchen I'd have one or 2 before I knew it a tub was gone! :P sorry Josh haha!

Music:

I love all types of music so to pick a genre or band is hard so I'd have to go with All that Remains as this band always wakes me up for an early bus ride to college and it's good because it has "screamo" bits as such but it has a melody bit too which is what I love in metal music <3

So yeah I hope you enjoyed this blog and comment any suggestion of products to try for February  Have a good few days and speak to you soon!

Byeeee,

Fran Helsing! x

Eye Make Up Of January 2013! x

Hi everyone,

I hope your all okay?

Just a quick blog post today as have quite a lot of work to do but I wanted to post a blog on here as haven't done one for over a week so here I am......Lets get started.

So first thing I use on my eyes is the E.L.F Eyelid Primer (£1.50) in the shade Sheer, I got this Product because I wanted my eye make up to stay on my eye a bit longer and it did work for a while but seems to now for some reason. I love elf products but this one not so much I would like to try other eye primers out there so I can compare it with the one from E.L.F.

Make Up Academy Professional Eye Palette Starry Night
MUA Pro Pallette Undressed
MUA:  Starry Night Palette

The next product I use is ever the MUA (MakeUp Academy) Eye-shadow palette in Starry Night (£4.00) which is a my night out palette for when I'm getting ready for a night out round a friend's house and I don't want to carry lots of make up with me. I love this palette as it comes with black, purples, blues, gray, sliver and a pink shades which are all great going out for night outs or even day time colours. I use the Dark blue colours (from left to right:- shade 3 and shade 5) if doing to college but meeting up with people after.

The next MUA palette I own is called Undreesed. I use this palette if I want to create a natural look espeacailly with shade 1 and 8 (from left to right) I use the shade 1 as an all over colour and the shade 8 with my E.L.F professional Eye Crease Brush or Smudge Brush (both £1.50) to add a bit of colour and definition to my eye look. What I love about MUA products is that they are so cheap and great as Christmas or birthday gifts as they come in many shades and combinations.

If I'm going for a natural look I sometimes use the eye shadow on it's own but if not I use my E.L.F Waterproof Eyeliner Pen (£1.50) in Black. I not great at the winged eye effect but when I have time I can do it okay which this eye-liner. It doesn't smudge easily like eye liners I have used in the past so I'd probably get this one again as my waterproof one.

To finish it off I use my Rimmel London Glam' Eyes Day 2 Night mascara in waterproof (blue lid), which I got about 4 months ago and I love it's staying on power, I like to use water proof mascara more than overs because you don't know what the day will bring. Another mascara I have which I use if on a night out with is becoming my favourite mascara is the Benefit they're real mascara (£18.99). It gives a great natural look to eye lashes and I love the little ball bit at the end I use on my lower lashes. So yeah I love it :)

I hope you like this blog, please share it with friends and leave suggests at the bottom of what I should do next,

look forward to hearing from you all,

Bye,

Fran Helsing! x

Hello Everyone,

If you haven't guessed already my name is Fran but not Fran Helsing that's just a nickname :P Any who I have been meaning to set a blog for a while now but just needed to sit down and do it so here is the first one. My blogs are going to consist of:

Make up
- Bargains of the month
- Fashion
- Music: Rock/Metal/ Charts
- Skin care: Night time routine daily
- Advice: relationships/family/school

These might not all be in one month but you get the idea. As I'm quite new to blogging, I have no idea how people can comment. If you can I would love to hear any suggestions you guys have one what I should include. I'll try and do one weekly so I can to get into the flow.
